Cost of Living :
Kazan State Medical University has 6 hostels. Students are provided different kinds of rooms, different in size and amenities as per their needs. As per regulation, two to three students can share the room.
All the rooms are well ventilated, comfortable, fully furnished, and centrally heated. The rooms are provided with Internet access, TV and telephone. Facilities for students are arranged on a sharing basis, like bathrooms and kitchens. There are common areas for students where they can socialize. All the hostels are under the protection of the police 24×7. Hostels are situated very close to the University.
Foreign students may live in the hostel or get an apartment or room arranged for them by the University as per their choice. The number of rooms is limited; therefore, early applications are given priority.
Off-campus apartment rent amounts depend on the location, size, and condition of the apartment. The apartments offered for rent are furnished and supplied with furniture and basic household appliances (refrigerator, TV, telephone). Family stay options are also available for students who want to experience Russian culture firsthand. The best choice in terms of improving language proficiency is by staying with a host family.

2. Do I need to provide an English language proficiency certificate to be eligible for admission to an English-language program?
You do not need to provide a language certificate. If you enroll in an English-language program, your language skills will be evident during entrance exams.
3. Where can I find entrance exam materials to prepare?
Programs of entrance exams in the Russian language:
- Undergraduate programs (bachelor and specialist);
- Graduate programs (master);
- Ph.D. programs.
- Programs of entrance exams in the English language are available for biology and chemistry (general medicine and dentistry entrance exams) here.
4. Do I need to provide a Russian language proficiency certificate to be eligible for admission?
You do not need to provide a language certificate. If you enroll in a Russian-language program, your language skills will be evident during entrance exams.
5. Am I allowed to work in Russia with a student visa?
You may work part-time with a student visa. No additional permits are needed. Please note that the Preparatory visa is not a student visa and does not give you the right to employment.
