Chittagong Medical College

Overview :

Chittagong Medical College and Hospital was founded in 1957, with Maiden Principal Professor Altaf Uddin Ahmed, Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Dhirendranath Datta, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Prime Minister Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy, District Magistrate MA Rashid, Police Super, and Central Health Minister Zahiruddin in attendance. This medical college is the largest in Chittagong and the second largest in Bangladesh.

Chittagong Medical Institution (CMC) is the oldest medical college in Bangladesh's south-eastern region, located in the coastal city of Chittagong. It is linked with a tertiary hospital where clinical students get training in medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, and other subspecialties.

Duration :

The MBBS programme at Chittagong Medical College is currently affiliated with Chittagong University. The courses are four and a half years long, with a year of a required internship following the final test.

Fees Structure :

  Approximate Fee: BDT 6,000 - 12,000 per year (for local students). International students may incur additional costs.

 

Admission Process :

  •  All academic certificates must be converted to Bangladeshi standards, which may be done by obtaining an Equivalence Certificate from the DGHS Dhaka and applying for a student visa through the Bangladeshi embassy.
  • Students must submit their applications in the CMCH authorized forms, together with attested copies of their mark sheets, certificates, and other documents.
  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the appropriate nation of the applicant's academic institution must authenticate the certificates and mark sheets.
  • No application will be accepted without attestation. Following that, applicants must present all academic credentials and mark sheets in their original form during their admission.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • To pursue an MBBS degree in Bangladesh The candidate's age must be 17 years old to be eligible.
  • The candidate must have completed a recognized board's 10+2 or upper secondary education.
  • The applicant must have completed SSC(10th) or equivalent examinations during the last four years and HSC(12th) or comparable examinations within the last two years, with an average grade of 75 per cent or equivalent in secondary school certificate (SSC).
  • Higher secondary certificate (HSC), with an average of 65 per cent in each subject and a GPA of 4 in both SSC and HSC.
  • To get admitted and study MBBS in Bangladesh, the candidate must have a valid score on the NEET entrance test.
  • The candidate must have all of the requisite paperwork for MBBS in Bangladesh.

Documents required for admission :

  • Passport (valid for 18 months).
  • Certificate of the applicant's 10th and 12th class mark sheets
  • The candidate's birth certificate
  • Photographs of the applicant in passport size
  • A letter of invitation from a medical college in Bangladesh.
  • The Ministry of External Affairs approved application paperwork.
  • The embassy has legalized all documents.
  • The candidate's medical certificate, as well as the HIV test documentation
