Khulna Medical College (KMC), founded in 1990, is a medical school in Bangladesh that is part of the Khulna Medical College and Hospital, also known as the "250 bed hospital." It is located in Khulna city, close to the inter-district bus stop at the city's entrance. Despite this, the institution has a stellar record in medical education.
The Khulna Medical College Hospital had 250 beds prior to 1989. During the year, there was consideration given to the idea of founding a medical college. KMC was thus born. The college started out training undergraduate students in its early years with just a few students and almost no infrastructure. In the hospital, PGT trainings were also provided. After that, a variety of new facilities, including those for education, research, and residential use, became available.
Along with 9 other government and private medical colleges, Khulna Medical College is affiliated with Rajshahi University through that institution. After completing their fifth year and successfully completing the Professional MBBS examination, students receive their MBBS degrees from Rajshahi University. The Ministry of Health affiliate Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC), which also oversees this college, has direct control over it. The University is responsible for holding the professional exams and disseminating the results. Card completions, term ends, and regular assessments are just a few of the internal exams that are given on a regular basis. Duration :
5 years MBBS courses with an emphasis on English literature are available at Khulna Medical College (IAHS). Every medical student must complete an internship after completing their MBBS program. This internship must last one year. The aspirants receive internship opportunities in hospitals while being supervised by experts. The Khulna Medical College offers doctoral degrees to all of its medical students.
