Kunming Medical University is a public medical school situated at Kunming City, Yunnan Province, China. Kunming Medical University was established in the year 1933. Kunming Medical University is result of an initiative of specialized program in medicine by Donglu University in the year 1933. It became an independent medical school in 1956 and was named as Kunming Medical College. In 1993, Kunming Medical College was listed as one of the key higher institutions in the Yunnan province. After the Ministry of Education of China evaluated in the year 2012, the college achieved its university status and was renamed as Kunming Medical University. At present, Kunming Medical University has become the largest specialized medical university in Yunnan province.
